As a life coach, I meet a variety of people who produce truly amazing work. Health coaches, energy workers & intuitive coaches, spiritual coaches, mindset coaches, leadership coaches - the list goes on. But not only do they produce amazing work, they possess some mind-blowing, totally unique skills to make it happen. But despite having the skills, knowledge & experience to produce amazing results, they’re still struggling to make their business work!
There are common patterns that show up when working towards success, and these patterns could be the “thing” that is preventing you from making money in your business. Which is what we’ll be diving into in today’s blog post!
3 Reasons You’re Not Making Money in Your Business
Reason #1 - You’re not showing up as your whole self
When building a business, showing up authentically is vital to your success. And if you’re not working from your Zone of Genius, this will hinder your success down the road. This makes it imperative that you determine what your unique gifts & talents are, and how you want to use them fully & with intention!
Oftentimes as entrepreneurs we’ll try to compartmentalize ourselves, because we think we need to narrow our work down to fit into a specific “niche” in order to get results. But here’s the thing:
We’re all multidimensional beings, with multiple talents & interests.
Yet we don’t allow all of these parts of ourself to shine through our business. Maybe it’s because we’re told that we have to find a niche to focus on so that people know exactly what we do? It’s tough to say. But this is simply not true.
We must unlearn these ideals that we “need” to or “should” show up in a certain way, and allow ourselves to show up fully. When you’re not being authentic, you’re just bringing a small piece of your personality into your business, compared to everything you have to offer!
For example, I used to think that people who are interested in Human Design and entrepreneurship are two completely different people. But then it occured to me, I’m a person that’s interested in entrepreneurship. I’m interested in Human Design, goddesses, tarot and manifestation. And if there’s one of me, there must be other people who are interested in the same topics!!
Why limit yourself to one topic when you are interested in a variety of topics? Once you learn not to compartmentalize yourself & release this restraint, your message becomes so much more powerful. You’re a diverse, multidimensional being, and your business should reflect that!

Reason #2 - Your message and offer aren’t energetically aligned
When your message & intentions are clear, your aura does the work for you. People that need to hear what you have to say become attracted to you, so making money becomes easy! But if you’re out of energetic alignment with your message & offer, you’re not going to attract the aligned clients or customers you want.
Businesses are run by entrepreneurs that offer solutions to people, and they get financially compensated for doing so. So if you’re not energetically aligned with the solution you’re providing, people will be able to tell. You must wholeheartedly believe in what you’re offering, and possess the confidence in your product to provide the solution your consumers are seeking. If you struggle with feeling confident in your work, lean on your personal experience, client testimonials, or your research and preparation.
It’s also important to understand that your offer is an energy exchange, and it’s essential to price your work in a way that feels comfortable for you. Many entrepreneurs tend to undercharge or overcharge, so you want to make sure your price is tailored to you, your offer’s value, and your financial needs. Without finding a price you’re 100% comfortable with, you’re not going to show up excited or motivated. If you set your prices to something that doesn’t feel right, and deep down you know that, your body is going to rebel by self-sabotaging (consciously or unconsciously). But by aligning your energy with your pricing and feeling confident in your worth, all of the mindset struggles & self-sabotaging behaviors will go away!
Reason #3 - You’re following advice from outside sources that isn’t benefiting your business
Maybe you're doing #allthethings that others say you “should” do, you’re listening to every single coach out there, every single program you join or course you take, you’re downloading every single freebie, but you’re still left wondering why you aren’t seeing growth in your business.
When finding a strategy that works for you, it’s important to be OPEN to all types of strategies, but also understand that not every strategy will work for you just because it works for someone else. And that’s okay, since we’re all designed differently (energetically speaking)! For example, if you’re told to grow on Instagram, start a podcast, make a Facebook page, or collaborate with other creatives, check in to see if this feels right for you & your business. You may not be energetically aligned to that strategy.

In my case, I felt for the longest time that I needed to be more active on Instagram. I would share my inspirations out of pure passion, which then helped my account & business grow. But as soon as I started doubting myself and thinking that I needed to manage my business through Instagram, my productivity became stagnant. It was then that the whole thing collapsed for me, even though it had nothing to do with the strategies. This made me realize that I don’t want to show up on Instagram in a business, strategic way. I want to show up as a human being.
You’re a unique person, with unique energetic needs. You’re allowed to operate your business in your own unique way. Knowing this will help you acquire the tools and mentors needed to teach you how to run your business in a way you feel is aligned with you. And if something feels uncomfortable or like you’re lagging behind, then that means it's not aligned for your business.
Success in your business will come once you learn to be completely and authentically yourself, energetically aligned with your work, and following advice that is aligned to your goals and business specifically.
