In our last post, we talked about energy centers. Depending on which energy centers are defined in your chart, you belong to one of the five Human Design types:

  • Generators
  • Manifesting Generators
  • Projectors
  • Manifestors
  • Reflectors

Let's look at each of these types in more detail.

Generators and Manifesting Generators

Generators and Manifesting Generators together represent about 70% of the population. These are the only two types who have their Sacral center defined. A Manifesting Generator, in addition, has a defined channel from one of the motor centers to the Throat.

Both of these types have access to sustainable life force energy and they are here to do the work that they love. When they do the work they love, they reignite themselves and radiate happiness and positive energy all around them. When they don’t - they get exhausted and burned out.

Generators’ and Manifesting Generators’ strategy is waiting to respond. Their gut is their best decision-making tool, so listening to the sacral sounds (ah-huh for "yes" or uhn-uh for "no") for indication which projects to take on is key for both of these types.

The strategy of Manifesting Generators is a bit more elaborated, and we will explore it in later posts.

Projectors

Projectors make up appoximately 21% of the population. Projectors have an undefined Sacral Center and have no motor connection to the Thoat.

As opposed to Generators and Manifesting Generators, Projectors are not here to work long hours in a conventional sense. They are here to guide, direct and manage people. Projectors have a natural talent to see the gifts and talents of other people, and they are excellent networkers, mediators and leaders.

Projectors’ strategy is waiting for invitation. They need to be invited or recognised before sharing their own wisdom with others, otherwise, their wisdom will not be accepted by others.

Manifestors

Manifestors comprise around 8% of the population. They have an undefined Sacral Center but they do have a channel connecting one of the remaining motor centers to the Throat.

Manifestors are the only Human Design type that is here to bring into existence anything they desire. Unlike other types, they don’t need to wait to respond or to be invited to launch their ideas, they can just go ahead and do it. However, they do need to inform others about their intentions - not to ask for a permission, but rather to remove resistance from their paths.  Thefore, their strategy is to inform.

Reflectors

Reflectors are the rarest Human Design type, only 1% of the population are reflectors. As the name suggests, they are here to mirror the energies of the world to the rest of us.

Reflectors are unique in that all of their centers are undefined and they don’t have a single defined channel in their chart. This makes them extremely sensitive to the energies of the others, and at the same time, if they know how to handle their energy well, extremely adaptable and wise.

They have a unique strategy that follows the lunar cycle, meaning that they need to wait for at least one full lunar cycle (28 days) to make major decisions in their lives.

This is a very abbreviated description of the HD types, and we can go in more depth in the future. If you want to learn more about Human Design, click here to download your free Human Design Resource Guide to get you started.
