Give yourself permission to dream

When was the last time that you dreamed? I confess I am not much a dreamer myself. I have an analytical mind and am much better with numbers than with imagining things.

Wrong. This is the typical excuse that my mind comes up with for not dreaming. But this is not me. My authentic self knows how to dream and yearns to dream because dreaming connects us to the unlimited potential that resides within ourselves.

We all dream as kids, but at some point in time, we just stop doing it. Maybe it is because our parents told us that daydreaming was a waste of time and we’d better do something productive. Maybe we came to the same conclusion ourselves. In any case, at some point in time, most of us turn into these rational and responsible adults that spend all their time doing things and have no time dream. Why waste our time on something so useless?

Wrong again. Dreaming allows you to connect with your innermost desires. Dreaming lets you sidestep your current reality and see what is possible for you. Yes, you hear me right, what you dream is possible for you!

Walt Disney once said: "If you can dream it, you can do it."

And I truly believe that.

You cannot have a life that you love without dreaming it first. So, let yourself dream!

Dream about what you want to do in your life.

Dream about how you want your future to be.

Dream about the future of your kids.

Dream about your next holidays.

Dream about tomorrow.

Close your eyes and imagine it in all the clarity, with all the little details. See it, feel it, smell it, taste it! And believe that you can make it happen!

Now, I have a dream... Do you? Share your dream in the comments and let's make our dreams come true!

  • I heard a tip recently to imagine that in 5 years’ time someone asked you how things were and your response was “fantastic! Life has never been better!!” What would life look like for you at that time? I found this a really good way to dream about what I really want.
